About us

Silver-tongued is a Literary Arts and Feature publication produced by students in the Literary Magazine course in conjunction with the Silver-tongued Literary Magazine Club at East Chapel Hill High School.  Prose, poetry, and art works are submitted by any member of the student body.

Each submission is judged anonymously by a board made up of staff and club members.  Pieces written by members of the staff or the club and are also judged and ranked. The magazine prints the works that are best received by the club as well as the work that reflects the driving theme of the magazine.

The magazine strives to provide students with an outlet for their creative works; therefore, the magazine does not reflect the views or ideas of the East Chapel Hill High School faculty, staff or administration. The magazine staff does, however, reserve the right to deny publication of works that are deemed inappropriate for a school publication.  As our title indicates, Silver-tongued strives to reflect the immense talents of our student body by maintaining the highest levels of eloquent artistry.

Every year we have a theme to help students find inspiration for their pieces, but it's not required that their submissions follow the theme. The club also hosts a Poetry slam every year, and other minor contests, like for Valentines day. The 2022 issue will be Silver Tongued Literary Magazine's 12th Issue.
